Recognition for Service
In the first September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (2002-2003), SPBMCC represented 362 firefighters seriously injured, and the families of firefighters who died, as a result of the 9/11 World Trade Center Terrorists Attack. We recovered more than $260 Million on their behalf, charging no fee – waiving more than $25 Million in legal fees. Not taking any fees was our way of giving back to the community of New York Bravest, who lost so much on that day.
2016 Delagate’s Convention
At the 2016 Delagates Convention, SPBMCC Partner Michael N. Block was awarded the Seven Seals Award. The award was a surprise to Michael. It was given to him because of the pro bono hours spent advocating for military veterans in the FDNY.
An Open Letter to the Members of the New York Bar
The President of the UFA wrote an Open Letter to the NY Bar, in recognition of the efforts of SPBMCC for firefighters and their families in the first 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
Lifetime Service Award
For his dedicated and tireless services to the Union and its Members, SPBMCC Partner Michael N. Block was honored with the Lifetime Service Award at the 2012 Annual Delegates Convention.
